Donald J. Harpel, 73 of Rt. 1, Crawfordsville died at 5:32 p.m. Tuesday in Culver Union Hospital. He had been a farmer all his life. He was a member of Farm Bureau and graduate of the New Ross High School. He was born near Shannondale Nov 9, 1918 to Andrew D. and Cora E. Fruits Harpel. Survivors include one sister, Faye Cruea of Crawfordsville; two nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel and Mildred and two brothers, Alfred and Walter. The funeral is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Brigman officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. - kbz
